Y 8 Kill weak words

This is a shameless steal from a colleague on Twitter -a fine source of teaching ideas. The only trouble is that I have forgotten where I saw it and will give credit when the originator lets me know!

We all hate writing that is full of weak expression: “nice”, “he went”, “big” or any adjective with “very” in front of it.

Here are their tombstones and ideas. What a merry bunch!
